Theodor Kramer is probably one of the greatest Austrian lyric poets of the 20th century and nonetheless still largely unknown. Bernd Jeschek reads a selection of the more than twelve thousand poems he left behind.
Among Theodor Kramer’s love poems are those regarded as the most beautiful ever created in the German language. Theodor Kramer says of himself: “I very much hope that I am, among other things, an asphalt poet, a coal chute poet, a hot-sheet hotel poet, a gorging and swilling poet.”
